Sunlight plays through the 750 year old rose window of Binham Priory, Norfolk.

Slow Burn Birdsong
Fire embers glow and a blackbird sings in a Norfolk garden.
Glandford, July Evening
A timeless view of the village on a warm sunlight evening in July. It is 6 o clock and the 12 bells of the church clock are chiming out over the fields, as they have for the last 100 years. Filmed from the bridge over the River Glaven at Glandford, on the North Norfolk coast. In this video I was trying to get the effect of an early black and white film.

Warham Camp, Iron Age Fort
Warham Camp is the best example of an Iron Age fort in East Anglia.

Green Thought in a Green Shade
Time and stream flow on a summer morning in a green shade.

Breath of Life

Conceptual and Environmental Art

I work with a variety of traditional drawing and painting techniques, digital media, textiles and found objects. I select and combine these as the ideas develop and new associations form.

Turbine Sacrifice © Sue White

I like to exploring different ways to reflect the process of passing time, and the juxtaposition of the new/old and natural/manmade. Exploring the continuity of human experience that echoes through time, seeking the deeper associations and the hidden half remembered layers that underlie our everyday life. Examining both our physical and spiritual interactions with the environment and the elemental powers of nature. Recently my work has focusing on environmental issues and particularly the local conflicts surrounding the effects of global warming and sea level rise. Exploring the contradictions between: strong resistance to change / urgent need for change, winners / losers, saints / sinners. I aim to create thought provoking images that will provide new perspectives that reveal concepts at different levels, and offer alternative interpretations. I want to attract the viewer and get them to question their perceptions.
